As the visual designer, my goal was to establish the look and feel of Health Storylines's various marketing assets. Working closely with brand guidelines, I was able to create layouts that reinforce Health Storylines's voice through its visual touchpoints across market assets inside and out.

1. Requirements Clarification
Coordinate with PEN (Patient Engagement team) member if there's any outstanding clarification needed to get started.

Finalize on structure, layout: Start from Health Storylines logo, hero image, introduction paragraph, CTA #1, paragraph #2, CTA #2, closing paragraph, logo.

Enhancement:
Goal is to increase email engagement.
The PEN team's strategy was to reduce the overall use of image.
A common email phishing tactic is use of an image to trick users in to clicking malicious links.
Solution:
-
From calculating the text-to-image ratio of our average newsletters, we found out it was well over 60 text to 40 image (recommended ratio).
-
To reach the new ratio, the background block (image) was removed, each items from block was broken down into separate sections.
-
Result of the implementation was a success as it increased the open rate every newsletters afterwards!
